Course set for KRITIS

Hamburg port railroad categorized as critical infrastructure - DAFÜR sets the course.

The Hamburg port railroad is the link between the container terminals of the port of Hamburg and the European rail network. In 2020, it transported around 47 million tons, which corresponds to around 200 freight trains with over 5,500 wagons - every day! More info on YouTube.

Like clockwork, the operation runs day and night to ensure that all containers reach their destination reliably and on time. In cooperation with the Mobility Division of Siemens AG, DAFÜR systems have been controlling the switches and track brakes of the outbound operation since 1995.

In 2021, the port railroad was classified as critical infrastructure for the first time.

After more than 14 trouble-free years in continuous operation, it was time for the IRENE system to make way for a successor.

Also for the coming decades the port authority counts on the proven technology of DAFÜR with the new system family STO. Not only does the trendsetting technology of STO with microservices and modern interfaces ensure continued reliability, but also compliance with BSI-KritisV.

Today and in the future.
